I was always excited start my own event planning business back in the Bitterroot Valley. But in an area where there are currently only 200 weddings a year, the statistics show that maybe 5% will hire a planner. That’s not a very sustainable number for business. And although I love traveling for my job, I love life in the Bitterroot Valley. It’s a beautiful place to live, and I want to see the wedding business succeed here! By initiating the Bitterroot Wedding Association, vendors are now able to work together to generate more interest in the Valley, and attract more business.
I’ve been involved with plenty of wedding associations over the years. Some of the most successful I’ve found really worked hard to make their member vendors successful. The Bitterroot Wedding Association vows to do that by providing marketing tips and resources, vendor discounts, networking opportunities, and client leads to its members.
More than just working hard for members, I wanted to provide a local resource for brides. When I was doing my own online research for vendors in the Bitterroot Valley, sometimes my search would yield no results. I realized local vendors were relying heavily on word of mouth advertising, which is GREAT. But when that’s the only way you advertise, brides who aren’t physically in the area don’t know about your services. The Valley appears to have limited resources, and that’s not true. So I’m setting out to change that opinion.
Although I have my hands full with my own event planning business, helping the Bitterroot Valley’s wedding business grow makes us ALL more successful! So I’m happy to lead the charge in getting this Association off the ground, but it does require huge amounts of vendor participation – every dollar spent on the association will provide more advertising support, and gain further reach! The more vendors that list, the more valuable this resource will become, and the more brides we’ll attract. So we invite anyone from Ravalli or Missoula Counties who want to join, to fill out a membership application!
And brides, we hope you utilize this new resource, and enjoy planning your Bitterroot Valley wedding!
